MANILA, Philippines- With its mission to bring music to the young, the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will launch a special program called Music for Young Minds on Tuesday, August 19, 3pm at the Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater), Cultural Center of the Philippines. The show will feature kids from humble beginnings, but of exceptional ability.
In the same evening, together with Ayala Foundation Inc’s Center for Excellence (CENTEX) and McDonald’s Philippines, the MSO’s program will stage an interactive familiarization with classical music, as well as perform excerpts of its Season Concert No. 3 Konzerfest. The Cultural Center of the Philippines agreed to waive the rental of the venue.
MSO’s marketing manager Carlos Garchitorena said: “we hope that this project blooms and lasts, and opens more doors for young Filipinos, whose natural predilection is to grow, unfettered by the disorganized and sometimes cruel world out there. With music, they can find harmony and order, find a place as among an orchestra, or recognition for individual achievement.”
To find out how you can support the MSO’s Music for Young Minds, send the MSO an email at info@manilasymphony.com or phone 523 5712.
