MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) will honor 10 listed companies on November 10, its third year of giving citations to firms with exemplary corporate governance practices.
Out of the 10 finalists, 5 will emerge as Bell Awardees, the highest award given to companies with “world-class corporate governance standards and practices.”
“We hope that through our various corporate governance programs including the PSE Bell Awards, we can encourage more companies to adopt good governance practices and strive to excel in them,” said PSE president and CEO Hans Sicat.
Last year, the PSE also recognized 10 finalists among the listed companies at local bourse.
On November 10, the stock exchange will also recognize 6 small trading participant finalists and 6 large trading participant finalists. From each category, 3 will be cited as Bell awardees.
Finalists of the awarding ceremony are assessed based on their performance in regulatory audits and compliance with market regulations and trading rules, according to the PSE.
Launched in 2011, its first awardees include Ayala Land, Inc., China Banking Corporation, Globe Telecom, Inc., Manila Water Company, Inc., and SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SMPH). – Rappler.com
