PRESS RELEASE: The festival on December 13 to 14 aims to show, promote, and support citizenship, sustainability, and social responsibility

This is a press release from Benita & Catalino Yap Foundation

The Benita & Catalino Yap (BCY) Foundation proudly presents the first CSR Festival: A weekend of lifestyle living in Citizenship, Sustainability, and Social Responsibility from December 13 to 14, 2014 at the Pinaglabanan Memorial Park, San Juan City.

Dazzle on food and gift items perfect for the holiday season as the day one (Decemuber 13, Sunday) of the festival will feature a Social Enterprise Bazaar in partnership with BCY Foundation’s Institute for Social Enterprise and Development. Blending in the event will be a mural painting workshop courtesy of Dolphins Love Freedom.

There will be special outdoor two-movie screening featuring Tulad ng Dati, “an alternate reality musical drama” as described by Director Michael Sandejas and “Like Stars on Earth” by Aamir Khan. Following the movie feature is the day’s highlight: a Fashion Show featuring different social enterprises.

December 14, Saturday, will open with a Zumba crowd dance and a stage play alongside the Social Enterprise Bazaar. Christmas carols will be sung by students from La Salle Greenhills.

Following it will be a series of inspirational talks on purposeful volunteerism to see and know how to live out Citizenship, Sustainability and Social Responsibility or CSR 3.0 everyday. Kids have a special place too as Storyhouse, Inc. will conduct a storytelling session in the afternoon.

The highlight activity of the day is a 3-year old concert that bloomed at St. Scholastica’s College Manila, organized by the Communication Society: the Yapak Mo Yakap Ko (YMYK) Benefit Concert. YMYK aims to give the center stage to the promising Filipino artists.

All proceeds of the CSR Fest will be given to the Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, Our Lady of EDSA. For more information, please contact Ms. Joanna Armenta at +63 915 453 9559 or email jojo_armenta@bcyfoundation.org. – Rappler.com
