MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Here is a list of schools and areas where classes have been suspended for Monday, December 8, due to Typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit):

Regions

Shortly before 1 am on Monday, Malacañang suspended classes in all levels and work in government agencies (except those involved in the delivery of basic services, disaster response, and other vital services) in the following regions:

• National Capital Region
• Region IV-A (Calabarzon)
• Region IV-B (Mimaropa)

Provinces

• Albay – according to Governor Joey Salceda
• Bataan – classes in all levels
• Bulacan – classes in all levels
• Bohol – classes in all levels
• Camarines Norte – classes in all levels
• Camarines Sur – classes in all levels 
• Capiz
• Cavite – classes in all levels from December 8 to December 9
• Cebu – classes in all levels, including component cities Mandaue, Danao, Talisay, Toledo, Bogo, Carcar, and Naga
• Laguna – classes in all levels
• Oriental Mindoro – classes in all levels, work in all government and private offices
• Quezon – classes in all levels
• Rizal – classes in all levels
• Surigao Del Norte – classes in all levels

Metro Manila

• Caloocan City – classes in all levels
• Las Piñas City – classes in all levels
• Makati City – classes in all levels
• Malabon City – classes in all levels
• Mandaluyong City – classes in all levels, office work at city hall (except for employees involved in rescue, emergency response, traffic management, and peace and order management)
