The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported Monday morning that the Tacloban Airport “is safe and ready for commercial use.”
However, CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio clarified though only turbo propeller aircraft are only allowed for now.
It can be recalled that the Tacloban Airport was closed and had to go through a rehablitation in September to restore the damaged runway.
CAAP added that all 41 airports are now open for commercial operations but landing and take offs are still dependent on prevailing weather conditions.
PAL, Cebu Pacific, and other commercial airline operators was advised of the development, CAAP said.
