MANILA, Philippines – The De La Salle College of Saint Benilde’s Multimedia Arts Program invites everyone to visit the Multimedia Arts Festival (MMAF), a contemporary art exhibit taking place at the Green Sun, Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Makati on April 13 to 17.

The students of Benilde’s Multimedia Arts program are proud to bring the Multimedia Arts Festival to Green Sun for its 4th installment as it continues to further raise awareness for the Philippine art scene.

This year, the MMAF presents [RE]FRAMED, a contemporary student art exhibit of multiple mediums that explores the stories behind the minds of these young artists, exposing their vulnerability and resilience through personal installations.

In addition to this exhibit, the MMAF will present a series of side events to accompany the festival through CONVERSATIONS, a celebration of in-depth talks featuring the Philippines’ top innovative professionals that aim to influence young minds and help them build their creative careers; PROSPECT, a culminating exhibit of the first batch of Multimedia Arts students under the new curriculum; the MMA AWARDS, an awards night celebrating the various achievements of the students under the MMA program; and the official launch of the MMA GUILD, a collective organization of MMA alumni.

“Everyone has a story. We struggle to articulate our everyday realities, both in the realms of the imagined and experienced. We grapple for words, images and sound in order to express ourselves in various languages,” says Sharon Mapa, the festival’s event curator.

The Multimedia Arts Festival was founded in 2013 and has been run by the Multimedia Arts students of Benilde with its most recent installment attracting over 5000 visitors. – Rappler.com
