The Write Stuff: A Writing Lab for Teens
Registration for the writing workshop is now open for teens 13 to 17 years old

MANILA, Philippines – Are you raising a teen who loves to read and write? Do you believe he has the potential to become a writer?

If you’re looking for a productive activity for your teen who is 13 to 17 years old this summer, sign him up for “The Write Stuff: A Writing Lab for Teens” happening on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 1PM to 5PM in U-View, Fully Booked, Bonifacio Global City.

In this half-day workshop, the Founders of Writer’s Block Philippines, Ana P. Santos and Nikka Sarthou-Lainez, will share different writing techniques to help your child discover his writer’s voice. It will also feature the basics of fiction writing, character design and story creation, which will be discussed by Talecraft creator, Ria Lu.

Youngsters who aspire to be fiction writers, feature writers, bloggers, or those who simply want to hone their writing skills should definitely not miss this learning opportunity.

In this workshop, we will try to unravel your writer’s voice and discover what kind of writing works best for you. We will also be sharing our own writing techniques and hacks so the act of writing will come easier for you.

During the workshop, participants will experience playing Talecraft, a story-creation card game designed to help writers break out of mental block and create stories with genres and characters that are outside of what they usually like to create. There are three types of cards in Talecraft: the Genre cards, the Archetype cards, and the Key cards. Players need to pick cards from each type and create a story based on what they’ve picked.

The cool thing about this event is that participants will get to bring home their own set of Talecraft cards!

Registration is now open and there are only limited slots available! For inquiries and reservations, email writersblock.ph@gmail.com or contact 0917.397.9927. Visit www.writersblockphilippines.com for more details. – Rappler.com
