Buendia off-ramp closed for Skyway traffic dry run

MANILA, Philippines – Motorists passing through areas affected by the ongoing Skyway Stage 3 construction project are advised to take alternate routes this weekend.

There will be a 3-day traffic dry-run along Osmeña Highway between Skyway Buendia off-ramp and Dela Rosa Street in Makati City starting 6 am on Saturday, June 6, until midnight of Monday, June 8.

During this time, the Buendia off-ramp will be temporarily closed, according to an advisory from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Affected motorists heading to Manila and the Makati central business district coming from the Skyway may exit at Magallanes, Don Bosco, or Amorsolo. 

Buses may exit at Magallanes or Don Bosco only.

The Skyway Stage 3 project will run from Buendia in Makati City to Balintawak in Quezon City, connecting the South Luzon and North Luzon Expressways.

Once completed, travel time from the north to the south of Metro Manila is expected to decrease from 2 hours to 20 minutes.

The construction began in February 2014. The profject is expected to be completed in April 2017, but an accelerated plan may mean completion as early as mid-2016. (READ: Alternative routes as Skyway construction starts) – Rappler.com
