Grant to support Asian photographers launched

MANILA, Philippines – The Emaho Foundation has launched a new grant to support Asian photographers.
The foundation aims to honor Asia's young and emerging photographers to highlight their work in an international platform.
The Emerging Asian Photography Grant offers $5,000, along with a solo gallery exhibition in Nottingham, United Kingdom, to one photographer working on a long-form, ongoing project that shows a deep dedication to the subject and illustrates a significant issue in our society.
Based out of India, Emaho Foundation is one of the first organizations to support photography in Asia. The mission of the foundation is to identify and highlight the works of outstanding photographers from Asia and to financially support their photography subjects.
A panel of internationally renowned photography experts, including Christian Caujolle, founder of Agence VU, Kira Pollack, director of photography at TIME Magazine, and award-winning Iranian photojournalist Newsha Tavakolian, among others will select the inaugural grantee.
Grant applications will be accepted through July 31 and the winner will be awarded by August 2015. – Rappler.com
