Join Manila’s collective curtain call

MANILA, Philippines – Two theater artists, a huge theater fan, and freshly graduated computer geeks had a big idea.

They wanted to fill up every seat of every theater show in Metro Manila. They wanted the entire populace to have easy access on information about each show being put up by our country’s booming theater community. This group believed that Manila is swarming with people who served art and talent in a platter for every meal every day. Their dream is to have each Filipino add theater to their daily diet. Because of their ideas, wants, and dreams, a website was born. 

Www.curtaincallmanila.com is the instrument that this group is using to achieve their dreams. First, they wanted the website to tell people about all the shows that are upcoming and now showing. The group readily streamlined all the information from the different theater websites and social media accounts and organized all these information in just one website. They wanted everyone to have an easy time figuring out the details to each show in the metro. 

The group then wanted to go beyond just details to shows, they wanted to give access to different theater classes to people that wanted to aspire for the theater. They want to make sure that no acting class; dance class, voice class, or even a technical production class was missed. They also added auditions and casting calls for people who wanted to give a shot at being a professional actor! They knew how hard it was for people to get their big break, that’s why by giving the shows that they can audition for, each person can have their shot at being on stage again and again and again. 

The group then had another grand idea! Why not make other people voice out their love for theater as well? They added a soliloquy section where people can submit their reviews for each show that they watched. They can also send articles that could help other theater lovers and artists, like what to do during an audition or where to eat when watching in the Makati area. They also added a spotlight section where the group would interview each theater person. They hope that they will be able to interview everyone in the Philippines when every single person in the Philippines becomes a theater person, be it from being actor to being an audience member.
