MANILA, Philippines – To promote sports development among the youth, the city government of Marikina will organize this year’s Summer Sports Camp starting April.
Now on its fifth year, this project will offer free courses for 17 types of sports discipline such as basketball, volleyball, swimming, football, rugby, softball, sepak takraw, lawn tennis, and mixed martial arts.
Through the Marikina Sports Center, the city government is now accepting applicants aged 7-16 years. To qualify, interested individual must be a resident of the city and must present the following requirements upon registration:
Registration is held at the Marikina Sports Center’s Conference Room 1, from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Slots are available on a first come, first served basis.
This summer program is part of the city government’s advocacy which promotes healthy and productive lifestyle among Marikenos.
"We invite our youth to join because it is one good venue where they can learn new skills while creating new friendships," Mayor Del De Guzman said.
