Max’s Restaurant set to open in Winnipeg, Canada in 2018

MANILA, Philippines – Casual dining giant Max’s Group Incorporated (MGI) is continuing its international expansion by deepening its presence in Canada.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Wednesday, September 20, MGI announced that it recently partnered with Alibin Group Incorporated to establish the first Max’s Restaurant in Winnipeg, Canada by 2018.

“We welcome the opportunity to once again serve distinct flavors of home to our countrymen based in Canada. We will strive to become part of their growing list of preferred dining destinations through our classic bestsellers,” MGI Group president and chief executive officer Robert Trota said in a statement.

MGI currently has 4 Max’s Restaurant branches in Canada, located in Vancouver, Toronto, Scarborough, and Edmonton.

MGI’s partner, Alibin Group, is a Winnipeg-based private firm with experience in retail, food services, accounting, finance and private capital markets, architecture, and information technology.

The new deal also marks the 5th development agreement inked by MGI this year. It recently announced a deal to bring 7 branches of another franchise, Sizzlin’ Steak, to the United Arab Emirates over the next 5 years.

MGI is the largest operator in the Philippine casual dining segment.

Aside from Max’s Restaurant and Sizzlin’ Steak, MGI’s other brands include Yellow Cab Pizza, Pancake House, Krispy Kreme, Jamba Juice, Max’s Corner Bakery, Teriyaki Boy, Dencio’s, Meranti, Maple, Kabisera, Le Coeur de France, and Singkit. – Rappler.com
