GMA’s entertainment chief Wilma Galvante retires

MANILA, Philippines – Broadcast executive Wilma V. Galvante has retired from GMA Network.

Listed GMA Network said the retirement of Galvante, its Senior Vice President for Entertainment, was effective on Friday, February 24.

“Due to the Company’s policy on compulsory retirement, our Senior Vice President for Entertainment Wilma V. Galvante will be retiring effective today,” GMA said in its disclosure to the stock exchange. 

She produced many TV shows and was behind the singing contest, Ang Bagong Kampeon (The New Champion), which kick-started other talent shows. She also produced the TV series Mulawin, Darna, and Captain Barbell, and reality shows like Celebrity Duets: Philippine Edition

The company’s disclosure did not mention who will replace her. – Rappler.com
