Parañaque prosecutor asked to inhibit from Okada estafa complaint
Tiger Resort blames the prosecutor for the supposed leak of a resolution involving its estafa complaint against its ex-chairman Kazuo Okada

MANILA, Philippines – A Parañaque City prosecutor was asked to inhibit himself from the estafa complaint involving Kazuo Okadafor alleged bias toward the Japanese magnate.

Tiger Resort Leisure & Entertainment Incorporated, the complainant against Okada, filed a motion before the prosecutor’s office of Parañaque, accusing City Prosecutor Amerhassan Paudac of gross partiality.

Tiger Resort blamed Paudac for the supposed leak of a resolution regarding the estafa complaint which has yet to be officially released.

According to Tiger Resort, the resolution was posted last May 18 on the Instagram and Facebook accounts of Chloe Kim, a “close companion” of Okada.

Tiger Resort, which owns and operates Okada Manila, had accused the Japanese magnate of embezzling over $10 million of the firm’s funds between early 2016 and June 2017.

Tiger Resort said that upon verifying the status of the estafa complaint, it was informed by the prosecutor’s office on Monday, May 21, that no resolution has been released yet.

The Okada Manila owner and operator said it was “shocked to learn” that Kim, as early as May 18, posted online a picture of portions of the resolution, showing Paudac’s signature. (READ: Okada, 24 others face anti-dummy raps in PH)

“In view of the foregoing circumstances, it is clear that copies of the supposed resolutions in the first and second estafa cases have been leaked to respondent Kazuo Okada and/or his close companions, even before the resolutions could be officially released,” Tiger Resort said in its motion.

“As city prosecutor, [Paudac] is expected to manifest such degree of impartiality which should not be tainted by scintilla of doubt,” it added. – Rappler.com
