MANILA, Philippines – Rosita (Yutu), which made landfall in Isabela as a typhoon on Tuesday, October 30, downed some transmission lines in Luzon.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) conducted aerial and ground patrols to assess Rosita’s impact.

The following transmission lines remain unavailable as of 9 pm on Wednesday, October 31:

  • Santiago-Batal
  • Santiago-Aglipay
  • Bayombong-Lagawe

The NGCP said it aims to restore those 3 remaining unavailable transmission lines on Thursday, November 1.

It “mobilized 10 line gangs, with around 100 personnel composed of engineers, specialists, and linemen,” after Rosita hit.

“Please note that loss of power may be caused by affected transmission facilities of NGCP or distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives,” the NGCP added.

“Transmission services may be 100% restored, but energization may not be implemented due to unrestored distribution systems. Please contact your local electric cooperative or distribution utility.” – Rappler.com
