MANILA, Philippines – Gokongwei-led carrier Cebu Pacific launched 2 new international short-haul flights to take advantage of growing travel appetite within the region.
On Thursday, March 22, the local budget airline launched the following maiden flights:
- Kalibo – Hong Kong, thrice a week
- Manila – Xiamen, thrice a week
“Lowest year-round fares for both these routes start at P2,499,” the airline said in a statement.
The Kalibo flight is meant to service tourists bound for or coming from the island of Boracay, a favorite tourist destination.
This offers the “fastest access to Boracay…on lowest fares,” it added.
The Xiamen flight, on the other hand, complements existing connections between the Philippines and different destinations in China, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, and even Macau.
China is now the 3rd top source of tourists, edging out Japan, in January 2012. – Rappler.com
