Ayala Land and Robinsons are among the firms interested to bid for the SSS property

MANILA, Philippines – Six firms have expressed interest in participating in the bidding for the 8,300-square meter Bonifacio Global City (BGC) property of Social Security System (SSS), the state pension fund for private sector workers.

According to Jose Bautista, chairman of SSS’ Acquired Assets Disposal Committee, the 6 firms that joined the pre-bid conference include:

  • Ayala Land Inc.
  • Robinsons Land Corp.
  • Jones Lang LaSalle
  • KeyLand Corp.
  • Clark Quay Holdings Inc.
  • Santiago and Santiago Law Office

Bautista said SSS opened the bidding to both local and foreign investors to get the best value for Block 56, which consists of 4 lots. The property is located along McKinley Parkway, between 10th and 11th avenues near SM Aura in BGC.

“We want to be as transparent as possible in the sale of this property and at the same time, get the best value for it. Thus, we are glad that several parties have expressed interest to ensure a competitive bidding,” he said.

“So far we have a good turnout of eager bidders and we are expecting more companies to signify their intention to bid for the lots before beginning the evaluation of bids received,” he added.

Interested parties have until August 15 to comply with eligibility requirements. The submission and opening of cash bids will be on September 4.

SSS president Emilio de Quiros Jr. earlier said the bidding has a floor price of P269,894 per square meter or P2.24 billion in total. – Rappler.com
