MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) increased its tax collection in November, but still failed to meet its collection targets.

In a statement released on Friday, December 13, the country’s largest revenue-generating agency said it collected P126.46 billion in tax revenues in November, about 14.17% or P15.69 billion more, compared to the same month in 2012.

The amount, however, is still lower than the P130.57-billion collection target for November.

Below are more details on the November collection performance:

  • BIR operations: P123.61 billion, up 14.63 % from 2012
  • Non-BIR operations: P2.85 billion,  down 2.74%
  • Collections by Large Taxpayers Service: P83.04 billion, up 24.82%

Total collection for January to November 2013 reached P1.12 trillion, exceeding the total collection for the entire 2012, which amounted to P1.058 trillion, the agency said.-Rappler.com
