Globe outlines cellphone load monitoring services

MANILA, Philippines – Globe Telecom launched a prepaid load notification service to protect its prepaid cellphone subscribers from possible load theft or unknown load deductions.

The service, known as the Globe Prepaid Load Watch, gives prepaid users alerts on their phones when their load reaches P5 or less, or when they lack the sufficient balance to make a call or send a message.

The service also lets users check on the remaining load amount on their account, the expiry date, and reloading time.

Globe has also reiterated the use of its self-service menu to make balance inquiries. Users can dial *143# to check their load balance as well as the status of any promotional registrations, including taking advantage of downloads, promotions, or services for free without the need for an access code or keyword.

The company also noted a means to opt out of automatically pushed messages that consume prepaid load and discontinue value-added services they do not want.

Upon receiving a partilar push text message with an access code, users can text CHECK to the access code number to verify one’s status with that service, then text STOP to that access code to discontinue the service.

Globe Telecom has around 34.5 million Globe and TM prepaid subscribers and 1.98 million postpaid subscribers. – Rappler.com
