The family of lawyer Benjamin Pinpin refuted claims that coercion led to the his August suicide during an executive session of a Senate inquiry.

 

MANILA, Philippines – The family of lawyer Benjamin Pinpin refuted claims that coercion led to the his August suicide during an executive session of a Senate inquiry.

The lawyers death sparked the Senate inquiry into a questionable loan granted by his employer, Development Bank of the Philippines, to a firm of businessman Roberto Ongpin.

The December 6, 2011 Senate inquiry ended early to give the the Pinpin family time to talk to Senators behind closed doors.
