Investigation showed he failed to pay P4.13 million taxes, surcharges and interests, broken down into P2.16 million for income tax and P1.97 million for Value-Added Tax ( VAT).

A similar complaint was filed by BIR against 3 other companies: transportation company Kingsam Express, engineering firm LVS Glimpex Philippines Corporation and realty company Ortigas Realty.

The BIR filed charges against Kingsam Express and its president Samuel Santos and two certified public accountants, Eodimel Octaviano-Coronado and Melani Maano Lopez, for underdeclaration of income for taxable years 2008 and 2009.

The tax bureau investigation showed that Kingsam Express had a total tax liability of P9.83 million for 2008 and P23.76 million for 2009 inclusive of surcharges and interests.

LVS Glimpex and its president Bonifacio Ladia were also charged for tax evasion for failure to pay taxes for taxable year 2008.

BIR records showed that LVS owed P4.83 million taxes, surcharges and interests for 2008: P2.64 million for income tax, P 2.04 million for VAT and P150,000 for Expanded Withholding Tax.

The BIR  also filed charges against Ortigas Realty, and its president Neal Jose Gonzales and treasurer Patrick Jean Gonzales for failure to pay the correct taxes for years 2009-2011.
