According to statements from Cebu Pacific and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), the plane – CebGo flight DG6577 – aborted takeoff “due to a fluctuating oil indication on one of the engines. While taxiing after aborting take off, the aircraft encountered a wheel fire and the crew initiated an immediate evacuation of passengers.”

The fire was declared under control by 7:54 pm by the fire department.
