MANILA, Philippines – AirAsia Zest will increase its Manila-Incheon flights and launch direct flights between Kalibo (Boracay) and Taipei in the summer months.

In a statement released on Monday, March 17, AirAsia Zest said it will fly to Incheon twice daily starting May 1.

It said this is “in response to the growth in traffic between the Philippines and South Korea.”

Koreans are the number one tourists in the Philippines, accounting for nearly 25% of visitor arrivals in the country.

AirAsia said it will give away promo seats worth as low as P599 (base) for its Incheon route on March 19 to March 30, for travel on May 1 to June 30.

Starting April 15, the low-cost carrier will fly daily to Taipei from Kalibo. Promo fares for this route go as low as P888 and are available starting March 17 until March 30, for travel from April 15 to June 30.

AirAsia Zest’s domestic flights include Kalibo, Puerto Princesa, Cebu, Davao, Tacloban, Tagbilaran, and Cagayan de Oro. It also flies to several countries in Asia, including China and South Korea. 

The airline is a partnership between AirAsia Philippines and Zest Airways. AirAsia PH has an 85% economic interest and 49% voting interest in Zest Air. Zest Air’s founder Alfredo Yao holds a 13% interest in AirAsia PH. – Rappler.com
