The budget carrier’s second long-haul route to the Middle East mainly caters to OFWs

MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific on Tuesday, September 2, launched its non-stop flights between Manila and Kuwait – the budget airline’s second long-haul service to the Middle East.

Cebu Pacific’s brand new aircraft, the 436-seater, all-economy A330-300 aircraft, will leave Manila at 9:30 pm Tuesday, marking the start of its thrice weekly Manila-Kuwait flights. It will arrived in Kuwait at 3:10 am (Kuwait time).

Kuwait is Cebu Pacific’s second long-haul flight service in the Middle East, home to over two million overseas Filipino workers. Last year, the Gokongwei-led airline launched its 7-a-week, 9-hour-long direct flights between Manila and Dubai.

“We are proud to offer our kababayans, the fastest, most affordable way to come home. Through Cebu Pacific’s trademark low fares, and direct, non-stop service, we hope that they get to enjoy being around their loved ones more often,” said Alex Reyes, general manager of Cebu Pacific’s Long Haul Division.

Since 2009, the budget carrier has listed the Middle East as among its “must-fly-to” destinations amid challenges in cornering flight entitlements. (READ: Only PAL has rights to Middle East, Cebu Pacific told)

Cebu Pacific president and CEO Lance Gokongwei said earlier that the price-sensitive market, which primarily consists of migrant workers, works well with the budget airline business model.
