MANILA, Philippines – Property giant Ayala Land Inc. denied it is in talks to purchase the Manila Golf Club.

In a stock exchange disclosure on Tuesday, September 10, Ayala Land said a Philippine Star columnist’s report that it is planning to buy the 43-hectare golf course is not true.

“We would like to clarify that while Ayala Land Inc constantly explores options to enhance and expand our developments, our company is not in discussion with the management or stockholders of the Manila Golf Club regarding the acquisition of the 18-hole golf course in Makati City,” the statement said.

The golf course has about 573 members whose shares are worth about P90.05 million each.

It is on the border of fast growing business and residential development, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig. – Rappler.com
