MANILA, Philippines – San Francisco-based Uber Technologies, Incorporated launched its new carpooling service in Manila on Wednesday, February 10.

The ride-hailing app company also said that the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) are supporting “technologies that help realize a smarter urban mobility future for the Philippines.”
“We’re thrilled to be able to support the DOTC in their efforts to tackle the transportation challenges of Metro Manila using our technology platform,” Cua added.
“With UberHOP we are providing even more viable alternatives to car ownership that can improve quality for life for everyone.”
