Maynilad Water Services will temporarily cut off supply in five Metro Manila cities as well as six municipalities and cities in Cavite from October 25 to 28.

Maynilad said this is due to ongoing works for a flood control project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along Cristobal Street in Sampaloc, Manila.

Water service interruptions will range from 25 to 85 hours in parts of Las Piñas, Makati, Manila, Parañaque, and Pasay in Metro Manila, and in Bacoor, Cavite City, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario in Cavite province.

“Since Maynilad has an existing water pipeline along Sobriedad corner Cristobal Street that is directly in the way of the drainage line to be laid by DPWH, Maynilad has to cut off a part of its existing pipeline and replace it with a cross-under pipe,” it said.

Due to the massive size of the affected water pipeline, its realignment will take almost four days or 85 hours. 

For affected customers, Maynilad will install 14 stationary water tanks and deploy 60 mobile water tankers.
