Mislatel or Mindanao Islamic Telephone is the consortium's franchise holder, which made it eligible for the 3rd telco player bidding.

Dito is expected to roll out services in 2020.

Davao City-based businessman Dennis Uy's Dito aims to provide coverage to 84% of the population in its 1st year.

In 5 years, the company promises to cover the country with 5G, with speed offerings that are 10 times faster than what is currently being offered by Globe and Smart.

President Rodrigo Duterte will award a certificate of public convenience and necessity to Dito on Monday, which will allow it to operate. – Rappler.com
