Tenants at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) got a reprieve from airport authorities, as their rental payments have been waived until the end of the year.

On Friday, August 27, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Board approved the waiving of rental payments of all NAIA concessionaires from July 1 until the end of December 2021.

Airport officials earlier waived rental payments from January to June.

“Lahat ng rental payments ng mga concessionaires sa food, retail at lounge sa NAIA ay waived na,” said DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddess Hope Libiran.

Airlines and concessionaires earlier asked government for a lifeline once again, as Metro Manila reverted into lockdown due to a surge of COVID-19 cases.
