No disconnection in ‘NCR Plus’ until April 15 – Meralco
Meralco will still conduct meter reading activities and deliver bills during the lockdown

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) on Saturday, March 27, said that it will not conduct disconnection activities until April 15, as the government placed the Greater Manila area under lockdown.

“We hope this measure will contribute to easing the burden of our customers and provide enough relief and time for them to settle their bills,” Meralco first vice president and chief commercial officer Ferdinand Geluz said.

Unlike in 2020, Meralco said there will still electric meter reading activities and delivery of bills during the coming lockdown.

“This will ensure that actual consumption for the month will be billed accordingly,” Geluz said.

Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite will be placed under the enhanced community quarantine from Holy Monday, March 29 to Easter Sunday, April 4, in a bid to arrest the surge in COVID-19 cases.

On Saturday, the Philippines posted almost 9,600 cases and logged a record 118,112 active cases. – Rappler.com
