Philippine Airlines reduces the price of swab tests with a 24-hour turnaround from P3,300 to P2,599

Passengers of Philippine Airlines (PAL) now have access to a cheaper swab test option with the fastest turnaround for its price.

In a statement on Monday, June 21, PAL said passengers departing from Manila may now arrange their RT-PCR tests for P2,599, down from the earlier offer of P3,300. Results can be received within 24 hours.

Passengers can get their swab tests at PAL testing facilities at the Philippine Airlines Learning Center (PALC) in Ermita, Manila, and at PAL Gate 3 along Andrews Avenue in Pasay City.

Antigen tests worth P700, with a 30-minute turnaround, are also offered at the two facilities.

PAL said swab tests at PALC are available via drive-through or walk-in from 8 am to 8 pm daily, including holidays.

At PAL Gate 3, meanwhile, testing is open to passengers via walk-in or in-car service 24/7.

Passengers only have to show their ID, PAL ticket, payment confirmation if prepaid, and QR code which indicates successful registration using the airline’s passenger profile and health declaration form.

Passengers will also be asked to fill out a health assessment checklist at the venue.

They may pay in cash, card, GCash, PayPal, WeChat Pay, or AliPay at the venue on the day of the test, as well as online. Discounts for senior citizens and persons with disability apply.

PAL’s newest offer comes after Cebu Pacific announced cheaper swab test rates at P2,500, with a 48-hour turnaround. – Rappler.com
