San Miguel Corporation will not be charging toll for the first month of the Skyway Stage 3

Ramon Ang-led San Miguel Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday, October 20, said the much-awaited Skyway Stage 3 is set to be opened for public use in December.

The concessionaire will not be charging toll for the first month.

“While we’re still doing a few finishing works, we want the public to be able to use Skyway 3 already and benefit from the convenience and ease of travel that it will bring. We have all waited long for this project, so this is the best way we can welcome everyone by making Skyway 3 free for one month,” Ang said.

For over a year now, SMC has opened the Skyway Stage 3’s Buendia to Plaza Dilao section to the public for free.

On October 13, SMC announced the completion of the 18-kilometer tollway, pending the curing of asphalt overlay.

The new tollway has 8 access points located at Buendia in Makati City; Plaza Dilao and Nagtahan in Manila; Aurora Boulevard, Quezon Avenue, Sergeant Rivera, and Balintawak in Quezon City; and the North Luzon Expressway.

Aside from the Skyway Stage 3, SMC previously said it targets to complete the Skyway extension project by December. The extension project would connect the South Luzon Expressway to the Skyway near Susana Heights and the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway. – Rappler.com
