MANILA, Philippines – July 31 isn’t only the famous Harry James Potter’s birthday – it’s Harry Potter series author JK Rowling’s as well. On her special day, Time published a compilation of well-wishes from the movies’ stars.
The messages, which came from 17 stars of the movie, ranged from a simple greetings (“Wishing you a very Happy Birthday on your special day!” wrote Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley) to longer messages thanking the author for the work she’s done and the inspiration she has been. Evanna Lynch, who starred as the dreamy Luna Lovegood in the films, even shared about the first time she met Jo, saying, “By the time we parted… you left me with the distinct impression that small, sensitive ladies can change the world.”
Some of the other stars who greeted the author a happy 50th birthday were Alan Rickman, who played the postions master Severus Snape, Matthew Lewis, who played Neville Longbottom, and Chris Columbus, who directed the first two Harry Potter movies.
