MANILA, Philippines – One year since they were launched in the movie Diary ng Panget, James Reid and Nadine Lustre continue to work together as one of the country’s most successful young love teams. The two are set to star in their first teleserye On The Wings of Love this August.

During the digital press conference for the show Monday, August 3, the two stars shared what they like about each other as partners.

“One, his sense of humor. Pag late na po, inaantok na po siya, nag-iiba na po siya…nagiging mas silly na po siya tapos medyo tumatawa na po siya na walang reason…nagiging baliw na po siya in a good way po. Nagpapatawa na ho siya…nagpipick-up lines, mga ganun,” Nadine said.

(When it’s late, when he’s already sleepy, he becomes different…he becomes silly and he would laugh for no reason… he becomes crazy in a good way. He would try to make you laugh…doing pick-up lines like that.) 

She also says James’ mysterious aura and and taste in music are two other things she likes about him.

“I like it that I can’t read him at all….hindi ko po talaga siya maintindihan. I am the type of person na pag may nakikita ako, or pag may na-meet up ako na mga friends ko nababasa ko po  yung ugali. Siya pa, hindi until now.”

(I cannot understand him. I am the type of person that if I see or meet up with friends, I can ready the attitude. Him, I cannot read until now.)

James for his part said: “We have the same taste in music together. What I like about Nadine is, she’s maalaga (caring), asking me have you eaten? Are you hungry? You want something like that… her quirkiness.”

Asked about their work goals as partners, both said they would like to do something action-oriented, like Mr and Mrs Smith.

‘On The Wings of Love’

Both James and Nadine agreed that making On The Wings of Love, partly shot in San Francisco, was an experience for the books. 

“It was really overwhelming for me. We were shooting in San Francisco and its like everywhere you look, it feels like a scene in a movie before. The feeling was incredible. We got to drive at the Golden Gate Bridge, Napa Valley, the grapevines and the whole thing was so much fun. We’re so grateful Dreamscape chose us for such a huge project, even flying us to San Francisco,” James said.

“Ang ganda po lahat parang movie po talaga siya.  Ang na discover ko naman kay James, na ganyan po talaga siya wala na po siya tinatago…” Nadine joked. 

(Everything is beautiful, it’s like a movie. What I discovered about James, he’s really like that, he has nothing to hide anymore…)

Both were also asked about the top moments in their lives. They mentioned going to San Francisco, the movie premiere of Diary ng Panget and doing a concert last month with Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras as memorable moments in their career. 

As for the fans, Jadine says they’re both extremely grateful for the support. 

“[Yung] JaDines po we can’t really explain kung bakit ganun yung suporta sa amin. Kahit anong topic kaya po nila ipa trending. Sobrang amazing po sila.. malala talaga,” Nadine said.

 ([The fans, we can’t really explain the support they are giving us. Whatever topic, they can really make it trend online. They are so amazing…it’s really so much.)

In On The Wings of Love, Nadine plays Leah who goes to the US to work and provide for her family. She meets Clark, a Filipino with a green card. With her visa expiring soon, Leah agrees to marry Clark who also needs her help to pay his debt. Will their agreement go beyond more than a paper?
