MANILA, Philippines – Good news Swifties, Taylor Swift released the music video for “Wildest Dreams” at the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show on Sunday, August 30 (Monday, August 31 Philippine time). (READ: Taylor Swift responds to Nicki Minaj’s tweets on the MTV VMAs)
In the video, we see Taylor and Scott play actors back in the ’50s. They appear to be filming on location, then we get snippets of their unfolding relationship. Then, we’re transported back to a movie set and the movie premiere – which Scott’s character attends with another woman. A heartbroken Taylor leaves the venue, and it’s no use for her leading man to follow her.
“All of Taylor’s proceeds from this video will be donated to wild animal conservation efforts through the African Parks Foundation of America,” read a message posted at the end of the video, which was shot in Africa and features all sorts of wildlife.
Taylor and actor Scott Eastwood, her love interest in the video, posted a preview of the video on her Instagram account a week before it was released. (READ: Katy Perry comments on Taylor Swift’s tweet to Nicki Minaj)
Both of them also posted this picture a couple of days before the release. Scott’s caption said that he had a great time working with Taylor Swift. “What an amazing time working with @taylorswift Not only is she a rockstar. But someone I am proud to call a friend. She is a great person and those are hard to find in your life. When you do…. Hold tight,” he wrote.
“Wildest Dreams” is the 5th single to be released from Taylor’s 2014 album, 1989.
