Talia and her mom Kaye talk to Rappler about her Adele cover and Talia's favorite singers

MANILA, Philippines – Natalia  “Talia” Olfindo, a 9-year-old YouTuber from the Philippines, has posted her version of Adele’s song “Hello” for fans to enjoy.

I thought that it was a really nice song and I thought maybe my audience would like it,” she told Rappler in an email interview through her mother Kaye.

Talia said she has always wanted to become a performer just like one of her favorite singers, Taylor Swift.

Talia loves to play the ukelele, editing videos on her iPhone, dancing, and drawing.

“I’ve been uploading her videos on my own channel (kcolfindo on YouTube) primarily just for family. But when we saw that she’s really comfortable with the camera, we asked her if she wanted her own YouTube channel and she said yes!” said her mom, Kaye.

“Her first video on her own channel was ‘Counting Stars’ with her singing and playing the drums. But as mentioned, her very first video was on my own channel which I just wanted to share with family and friends.

“Since my husband and I produce videos for a living (YouTube.com/NMFtv) and our studio is just a few steps away from our house, Talia is able to shoot her videos with her dad when things aren’t so busy,” she said.

Kaye also said that the young singer is into the arts, editing her videos. “ Most of the time she’ll be on her iPhone shooting videos and playing around with editing apps,” she said.

Asked if there were other artists she would love to cover, Talia said: ” I like to cover Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, 1D, and Selena Gomez. Some of them I haven’t covered yet but hopefully soon I will cover their songs.”

Last year, Talia impressed everyone with her rapping skills as seen in her version of Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s “Fancy.”

Check out some more videos of Talia below. One video sees her sister singing with her.

Talia’s cover of “Hello” joins a growing list of other renditions by artists all over the world. Last Saturday, Demi Lovato performed the song at the recent KISS FM Fall Ball.  Last Halloween, Joe Jonas, along with his band DNCE, covered the hit song in full sad clown getup, complete with colorful tears, rainbow wigs, and downturned lips. There’s also a popular cover by a South Korean student, while The Voice contestant Regina Love sang “Hello”for the live play-offs. – Rappler.com
