Blake and Ryan got hitched ‘The Notebook’ style

WASHINGTON, United States of America – It’s no longer a secret that Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and actor Ryan Reynolds are now husband and wife.

But fans are thrilled to discover that the two actually tied the knot on Sunday, September 9, in the romantic place where “The Notebook” was filmed in 2004: Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, according to a report from Us Weekly.

Fans of the romantic “tearjerker” that starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams would be familiar with the place, a popular wedding venue in South Carolina.

Coincidentally, Lively dated Gosling briefly in December 2010, after her break-up from Gossip Girl co-star and beau for 3 years, Penn Badgely.

Lively, 25, and Reynolds, 35, met on the set of “The Green Lantern” in 2011 and started dating in the fall of the same year.

Before Reynolds, Lively was in a relationship with actor/producer Leonardo diCaprio.

Reynolds, meanwhile, was previously married to actress Scarlett Johansson (they divorced in July 2011 after being married for 3 years) and engaged to singer Alanis Morisette (also for 3 years, from 2004-2007).

The two said their surprise “I do’s” in a private ceremony at Boone Hall Plantation. Music accompaniment was provided by Florence Welch of the band Florence and the Machine, according to a report by tvfanatic.com. There was also a DJ on hand.

The wedding took fans by surprise since there was no official engagement prior to the ceremony. Critics note, though, that Reynolds married Johansson in the same manner — in secret and catching everyone by surprise.

Johansson — fondly called Scarjo by fans — is rumored to be going out with actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto. The two were spotted holding hands at a party held by the Democratic National Covention. – Rappler.com
