'There have been days when there should be a no-tweeting law,' says Kanye's mother-in-law on his tweets

MANILA, Philippines – Kanye West ranted on Twitter a lot recently, and his mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, spoke up about it on Ellen DeGeneres’ show. (READ: Kanye West on ‘Famous’ line: ‘I did not diss Taylor Swift’)

In the March 1 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Ellen brought up the rapper’s Twitter breakdowns, saying, “Kanye is tweeting like crazy, and don’t you want to just say, ‘Stop tweeting?'”

“You know, there have been days when there should be a no-tweeting law. I feel like I’ll ground him,” Kris answered.

“He should have a board of directors, and then people should say ‘No, do not tweet that, that’s a bad idea,’ and he should listen to them,” Ellen suggested.

Kris then explained one of Kanye’s tweets, where he said he was $53 million in personal debt and entreated Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg to invest in him. (READ: Kanye West reaches out to Mark Zuckerberg, claims to be $53 million in personal debt)

“When he was like, ‘Oh, I am $53 million in debt,’ or you know that whole thing, what he was trying to say was that what he’s done to spend on his clothing line over the last 15 or 20 years or whatever it’s been. But it comes out not exactly the right way, and people get it misconstrued through the media and then it’s just complicated, what can I say?”

Kanye’s Twitter rant about being “in debt” inspired one fan to create a GoFundMe page, with a goal to raise $53 million for the rapper.

According to the GoFundMe page, Kanye declined the donations, and the proceeds were redirected to Notes for Notes, a non-profit organization “dedicated to providing youth with completely free access to music instruments, instruction and recording studio environments,” as written on its website.

“Because I think when you see someone who’s very, very wealthy, like Kanye, asking for a GoFundMe page, I think a lot of people here would like to have a GoFundMe page to pay for their stuff,” explained Ellen.

The interview was unusually quiet, with only a few bursts of laughter from the audience from time to time.

Kris is the mother-in-law of Kanye West, who is married to reality TV star, Kim Kardashian. Kim and Kanye have 2 children together, North West and Saint West.
