MANILA, Philippines – TV host Mariel Rodriguez is pregnant again.
On Saturday, May 21, Mariel’s husband Robin Padilla confirmed the news on Instagram. He also appeared on the show It’s Showtime, where Mariel is a host.
(What can I say? I guess I want to start by saying thank you to the host, staff, crew and audience of Showtime for giving happiness to my Mariel. You came into her life in the moment when she was feeling very sad. You became the reason she smiles and has hope everyday, waking up at 6 in the morning and ready to be your host, friends and Kapamilya.)
(You served as a miracle for her because the truth was there was a possibility that she cannot have a child anymore. It is true that Mariel is pregnant and because of Showtime, she felt she was taken care of so well. There is cousin Amy [Perez] who always has food for her, Vice who is always ready to protect her, Vhong who reminds her of my voice, Billy who gives color to our lives, Anne and Karylle who are very giving to her, Jugz and Teddy who take care of her, and the whole staff and crew who help care for her because of her sensitive pregnancy, and to direk who exempts her first when it comes to heavy work and to the people who believe in Mariel.)
(To make the story short, you are the ones who are filling my shortcomings to my wife and future child. You are the ones who became the father while I was busy with the revolution. I will not claim this child as solely my own because my participation in its creation is in the joy only. You were also with my Mariel during her moments of sacrifice because of her pregnancy, that is why it would only be right for me to say that this baby is a Showtime baby. Again, please accept my wholehearted thank you to all.)
Following the announcement, Mariel posted this on Instagram.
Thank you Showtime family!!!!!!! We are going to have a baby!!!!!
Mariel also posted this photo of her and Robin prior to their baby announcement.
“I love you so much!!! thank you for making everything special!!! I love you babe! this was last night before our baby announcement today.”
Last December, Mariel shared with TV host Boy Abunda that husband Robin Padila helped her get through her two miscarriages. Mariel had her first miscarriage in March, followed by another one in August.
(I may not be lucky when it comes to having a child, but I’m lucky to have a supportive husband.)
“Sobra niya akong inalagaan (He really took care of me) most especially the second time it happened,” she said.
In the same interview, Mariel said that she has learned to so much, saying she is blessed despite the situation she faced. She is currently part of ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime as one of the regulars hosts.. –Rappler.com
