MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – As Leni Robredo is sworn in as the Philippines’ 14th Vice President, people from different sectors of society have gathered – including various famous personalities.

Robredo took her oath of office on June 30, Thursday, at the Quezon City Reception House, the new home of the Vice President.

Entertainment figures and the like were also there to witness the historic moment for the former Camarines Sur representative, who has assumed the second highest office in the land.

Kris Aquino was there to represent her other sisters Ballsy, Viel, and Pinky, who joined their brother, Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, as he turned over the office of President to Rodrigo Duterte.

Robredo kept it simple with the meals that were served, which includes buchi with Chocnut – a favorite treat of hers.

She is also set to grace a thanksgiving party with supporters at the Quezon Memorial Circle.

The new Vice President’s inauguration was separate from President Duterte – an uncommon move. Usually, the president and vice president usually are sworn into office at the same event and location, even though they are part of different or even opposing political parties.

Duterte took his oath of office at Malacañang Palace’s Rizal Hall, as the new president’s camp cited limited space in separately holding his inauguration from Robredo’s. – with reports from Bea Cupin/
