Maine Mendoza posts sweet message for Alden Richards on AlDub anniversary

MANILA, Philippines – Maine Mendoza thanked screen partner Alden Richards Saturday, July 16, as the two marked their first year anniversary as a tandem on Eat Bulaga.

On Instagram, Maine posted her message accompanied by their photo taken in Italy during the shooting of the movie, Imagine You & Me.

“Meeting you was fate; it was wonderful, it was miraculous, it was extraordinary and indeed sweet serendipity. For some, it was nothing but luck and plain coincidence; but for me it was something revelatory about the notion that miracles like this do exist. God made our story extra special; He let everybody witness every single thing from the very beginning. It was something unexplainable.

“I glanced and smiled at you and all I could do was wonder how did that simple smile change both our worlds. It changed everything–it changed us. What happened on the 16th day of July 2015 will live on in people’s hearts until the end of time. We might not know what the future holds but you should know that no matter what happens, you already have this special place in my heart. And I want you to know that even if we end up being together or not, that spot is yours–forever. Happy first anniversary,  [Alden Richards]. Thank you for everything,” she wrote.

As part of their first year anniversary, American singer Bryan White came back to Manila to perform the song, “God Game You,” the theme song of AlDub.

The two also performed the song, “Imagine You & Me,” the theme song of their movie with the same title.

Formed last year during the segment of Juan For All, All For Juan on Eat Bulaga, Alden and Maine, aka Yaya Dub, became the talk of everyone on television, online, and social media. Their  meeting during the Tamang Panahon event last October got a record of 41 million tweets on Twitter, with endorsements and interviews coming their way.

They also starred in their first movie as a tandem in My Bebe Love with Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai delas Alas and were recently featured on the cover of YES! magazine‘s Most Beautiful stars of 2016. – Rappler.com
