Luis Manzano reveals story behind photo of Jessy Mendiola with mom Vilma Santos

MANILA, Philippines – A photo of actress Jessy Mendiola with Batangas representative Vilma Santos-Recto made the rounds online, but it was unclear as to why or when the two met. Now, Luis Manzano, to whom Jessy has been linked to, shares the story behind the viral photo.

The photo appeared in a Facebook fan page for Vilma Santos.

Luis said that his mother, Vilma, had invited Jessy for dinner not only to meet her, but also to “check up” on her, considering the vitriol directed toward her.

“My mom just invited us for dinner to talk and check up on me and also to meet and check up on Jessy regarding all the unwarranted bashing going her way,” he in a text message to PEP.

In a previous interview, Jessy said that she has not met any of Luis’ family members. The two have only admitted to “going out.”

Jessy has been blamed for Luis’ split with actress Angel Locsin. Critics have accused her of being a third party in their relationship.

She clarified that she was not the cause of the breakup, saying at one point: “It hurts ‘pag sinasabi nila na – for a lack of better term – ‘ahas’ ka. Wala lang, kasi labas ako sa kanila and what happened between the two of them.”

(It hurts when people say – for lack of a better term – ‘you’re a snake.’ Nothing, because I’m not involved in their problem and what happened between the two of them.)
