WATCH: Conan Stevens’s ‘Encantadia’ character unveiled

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Actor Conan Stevens, best known for playing Ser Gregor Clegane (a.k.a. the Mountain) on Game of Thrones season 1, has revealed his role on GMA 7’s fantaserye Encantadia.

In an interview on Unang Hirit, Wednesday, August 3, Conan said that he will play Vish’ka, the leader of the Askano tribe.

“I’m out of character this time. I’m playing a higante (giant). As you can see, I’m completely away from my usual romcom roles,” Conan joked.

“[I’m the] leader of the [barbarian] tribe [called Askano]. And basically, I’ve lived for hundreds of years and having that ability, I’ve become the best,” he said.

The Askano is a tribe that formerly served the kingdom of Sapiro, where Ybrahim/Ybarro (played by Ruru Madrid) and Prince Raquim (Dingdong Dantes) are from.

In a previous interview, Conan confirmed that he was joining the show but could not reveal too many details about his role.

The telefantasya, which began airing last July 18, is a reboot of the 2005 show which revolves around 4 sisters or sang’gres – Pirena, Amihan, Danaya, and Alena – who are also the guardians of 4 elemental jewels (Brilyante). – Rappler.com
