Gab Valenciano, Tricia Centenera split

MANILA, Philippines – TV host and fashion blogger Tricia Centenera and multimedia artist Gabriel “Gab” Valenciano have split, as the two continue to go through marital problems. 

Though Gab has not issued a statement, the Valencianos said this in a statement released to Rappler: “This is a family matter. Not everything you read is true. Everyone makes mistakes. But this is too sensitive a matter to simply make statements about. We request for privacy as we try to handle this hurdle in our life with wisdom and faith.”

A source close to the couple says that contrary to rumors, infidelity and money issues were not the ultimate reasons for the split – and that those around the two are holding out hope for a reconciliation. There is no bad blood between the two families.

Tricia declined to be interviewed on TV, but according to a report from TV Patrol, Monday, September 12, Tricia told reporter Gretchen Fullido on the phone that Gab asked for a divorce. However, this separation has yet to be finalized. Tricia also said that she asked Gab to leave their condominium at The Fort last July 31.

It was previously reported that the two were having problems when Tricia posted cryptic messages on Twitter.

In another post, Tricia hinted at more bad news.

Meanwhile, Gab has never addressed the issue directly, but posted on Twitter: “Life is a continuous journey of struggle. Might as well live it by struggling strong.” 

He’s busy with a slew of upcoming projects, including a number of endorsements and a major concert with his dad Gary Valenciano in the USA this coming October.
