MANILA, Philippines – Angel Locsin said that she is happy being with (rumored) boyfriend Neil Arce who she has been seeing for a few months now.

In an interview with reporters after the press conference for her return to La Luna Sangre Thursday, September 7, Angel said her love life is doing perfectly fine. (READ: Angel Locsin on returning to ‘La Luna Sangre,’ working again with Richard Gutierrez)

“Okay naman ang love life [namin],” she said. (Our love life is okay.)

When asked if they have said I love you already to each other, Angel said yes but that are not yet boyfriend and girlfriend. 

“Tina-try namin yung parang kayo pero hindi kayo, yung ganun. Magulo ba? Ako rin naguguluhan,” she laughed.

(We try to be a couple but like we’re not either. Is it confusing? I’m confused as well.)

“Paglumalabas kami, hindi naman kami nagtatago…siguro label na lang ang kulang. Pero hindi naman kami nagdadate ng iba. He’s very nice.”

(When we go out, we’re not really hiding it…I guess what lacks now is only the label. But we don’t date other people. He’s very nice.)

Asked if Neil has already asked to be his girlfriend, Angel said that they talked about it but they prefer now just dating since they started out as friends.

“Kasi barkada kami, di ba? Eight years kaming barkada. So, alam namin yung pinagdaanan ng isa’t isa,” she said.

(We’re really close friends, right? We’ve been a friends for 8 years. So we both know what we each have gone through.)

Angel was also asked if past failed relationships are factors as to why they are taking it very slow. Angel ended her two year relationship with Luis Manzano in 2016, while Neil’s last relationship was with Bela Padilla, who confirmed that they have broken up.

“Siguro mas ingat lang, iniingatan lang namin ang isa’t isa. Kasi kapag nag-away kami, wala kaming ibang makakausap.

(I guess we’re just careful, we’re careful with each other. Because if we fight, we don’t have anyone else to talk to.)

“Kasi kami yung magkausap kapag may mga problema kami sa love life dati, e.  So, hindi kami puwedeng mag-away.” (Because we talk to each other regarding our problems, our love lives. So we can’t fight.)

Angel also said that there’s no issues with her and Bela nor is she bothered by the fact that Neil and and Bela still work together.

“Kami, wala kaming problema. Si Bela, mabait sa akin. (We have no problem with each other. Bela is very nice to me.)
