THAT'S A WRAP? Fans and the industry wonder if Willie Revillame is, in fact, pulling the plug on his show. Screen grab from YouTube (PacificRimVideoPress)

MANILA, Philippines – He’s back.

Willie Revillame’s variety show Wil Time Bigtime will move from primetime to noontime as part of TV5’s efforts to streamline its programming and cut losses, TV5 chairman Manuel V Pangilinan announced in an article published on Interaksyon.

“I think it’s best to reposition and reformat the show. It would cost us, but we would expect a better revenue,” Pangilinan said, adding that the production of the show would also transfer from the Novaliches studio to Delta Theater in Quezon City.

The move will pit Revillame against familiar rival Eat Bulaga of GMA-7 and the newer Showtime of ABS-CBN.

Revillame used to headline noontime show Wowowee in ABS-CBN before transferring to then newly-re-launched TV5 in 2010.

Although variety shows are usually placed in the noontime slot, Pangilinan said Revillame was placed in primetime because TV5 needed someone like him to give “the first boost” for the network.

Revillame earlier hinted about changes in the show.

Pangilinan said the network expects to lose P2.8 billion in the second half of 2012. – Rappler.com
