He has found it, lost it, and found it again. Or has love found the actor at last?

MANILA, Philippines – “My love life is awesome! It’s amazing!” actor Jericho Rosales told Rappler when we asked him about his (love) life in an event for Vaseline Men last February 5. “I am such a romantic and my girlfriend loves me so much.”

Jericho said he met his girlfriend — “Etcetera” host Kim Jones — in a group dinner organized by his friend (and fellow actor) Dominic Ochoa.

“It was kinda awkward because there were kids (in that dinner),” he recalled.

Jericho and Kim dated for two months after that fateful dinner before making their relationship official. He said that what he loves most about Kim is her love for children and animals.

Lahat ng Filipino qualities nakita ko sa kanya (I saw Filipino qualities in her),” he said of Kim who is Australian. “She’s malambing (sweet).”

He is also proud to have Kim as his personal stylist for some of his shows. “She’s very creative! Siya ‘yung nagdadamit sa akin sa ‘ASAP’ (She dresses me for ‘ASAP’),” Jericho said.

Advice to the broken-hearted

Jericho’s love life is no secret to the public, him having been involved in high-profile relationships with Kristine Hermosa and Heart Evangelista. It was after his breakup with Heart in 2008 that his lovelife seemed to go “quiet” until March 2012 when he and Kim came out with their relationship.

When asked for his advice to people who are still trying to find “the one,” and he said: “Being broken-hearted is a great way to be whole again.”

Here’s how to do that:

1. Spend an hour with yourself each day

Jericho emphasized the value of having balance in life, which he also thinks is the secret to his staying power in show business.

“For one hour, every morning, I turn off my gadgets,” he said. “I talk to God and spend time alone. I sing.

“There’s always hope in life. Follow God and He’ll take care of you,” the actor added with a smile. “I don’t want to sound preachy to you but that’s what I do.”

2. Take care of yourself

“Some people think that a real man has to smell musky — in a bad way — that’s a misconception,” Jericho said. “Women would like their men to look good and smell good, be physically fit.”

Rosales said it is important for men to take care of their skin, lead an active lifestyle, and always be well-groomed. “There is nothing wrong with vanity so long as it’s properly — not overly — done.”

3. Re-invent yourself

Aside from acting, Jericho has also gotten into producing and joining triathlons. He is part of the Vaseline Men XTERRA Off-Road Triathlon Series in Liloan, Cebu on March 2 to 3. He also produced the recently-concluded “Single and Unattached,” a single-fin surfboard competition in San Juan, La Union.

“I’ve been doing on and off camera work,” Jericho said. “Producing is one thing I (now) love doing.”

He is set to appear in an independent movie about human trafficking, “Alagwa” (Breakaway), an entry to the ASEAN Film Festival this March 28 to 30 in Malaysia.

Other projects he is looking forward to this year are his second album “Korona” and the second season of his reality show “I Dare You.” – Rappler.com
