MANILA, Philippines – At just a few weeks before the summer season rolls in, Rappler caught up with the brand ambassadors and guests of Magnum Ice Cream at the launch of their two newest flavors (Chocolate Brownie and Chocolate Strawberry) last February 19.

We asked them for their summer plans and how they are preparing to get that sexy beach bod, and here’s what they told us:

Liz Uy

“I’m planning to go to Dubai with my friends this Holy Week. But if the trip doesn’t push through, I’m just going to stay here and head to the beach.

“To prepare for summer, I work out and try to eat right. I work out whenever I can; I really make time for it. If I end work at around dinner time, I still do Bikram yoga and Pilates.”

“Just like everybody else, I’m going to the beach. I love Boracay, but I only want to go when nobody’s there because I want to hit the beach and just get some quiet time. I’ve been thinking of traveling around Asia, too. I might go to Phuket and do a yoga and detox retreat.

“To prepare myself for summer, I just change my diet because I already like to do some sort of physical activity everyday — yoga, weight training, or running.”

Georgina Wilson

'I just try to live a healthy lifestyle all year round'

“I actually haven’t made any plans for summer yet, to be perfectly honest. I want to discover more islands in the Philippines like Palawan or Batanes.

“To prepare myself, I just try to live a healthy lifestyle all year round. I can’t give up the eating part so I just try to be more active.”

Rajo Laurel

'To prepare myself, I try to exercise 4 to 5 times a week'

“We’re planning a trip to the Middle East, like Jordan, Qatar, and Dubai. I’ve never been to those places.

“I am a beach person during summer, but I’m usually more covered than my friends. To prepare myself, I try to exercise 4 to 5 times a week. I like doing Core Kinesis, Body Jam, and dancing.”

Tessa Prieto Valdes

'My whole summer will be spent biking, swimming, and running'

“In August, I’m participating in the Ironman Race in Cebu, which is why I’ll be training the whole summer. In fact, my summer holidays are based around different triathlon mini races in Manila.

“My whole summer will be spent biking, swimming, and running. Aside from all those, I also do Bikram yoga daily, then I either swim, bike, or run. On Saturdays, I do a long bike ride; on Sundays, I do a long run.”

Solenn Heussaff

'I’ll continue my regular exercises which are yoga and Kangoo Jumping, and this new thing called the 20-Minute Strength'

“This summer, my sister’s getting married so I’ll be going to her wedding which will be in Sri Lanka; that’s my only plan for now. I will start my South Beach diet in two weeks because I do want to be fit for my sister’s wedding; add to that the fact that it’s going to be on the beach.

“I’ll continue my regular exercises which are yoga and Kangoo Jumping, and this new thing called the 20-Minute Strength which I saw on YouTube. I’m trying that for 30 days, 20 minutes every morning.”

Raymond Gutierrez

'There’s a little bit more pressure to be in shape and be ready with that beach body. I still work out and watch what I eat.'

“I usually spend summertime with my friends and we either go out of town or out of the country, so I think it’ll be no different this year. We just don’t have a specific spot yet.

“Of course, there’s a little bit more pressure to be in shape and be ready with that beach body. Right now, I still work out and watch what I eat. If I can’t do it every day, I’ll do it every other day. I do boxing, Core Kinesis, and then this training called Spartan Training which is like an indoor boot camp that uses tires and ropes.”

Here are other personalities we spotted at the event:
