On Twitter, netizens shared their thoughts on how the 4 judges commented on the contestants. Some said they did well, while others said they could have done better, most especially Moira.
James is straightforward
Regine giving us the tips
VG still like in ST and GGV, only shorter airtime
Moira is nakakaantok #IdolPhilippines
No offense to the show and the fandom of the other judges,in my opinion talaga, si regine lang ang VALID na judge for this show. #IdolPhilippines
Uhm have nothing against moira and james, actually i am a fan of james, but imo, they are not yet fit to judge this kind of competition. There are other artists out there who are more deserving. #IdolPhilippines
In fairness to James Reid. His comments are objective and with sense. #IdolPhilippines
Other netizens, meanwhile, asked why talent shows put emphasis on the back stories of contestants. Some of them even said that Voice of the Philippines was still a better singing contest.
One thing I hate about reality shows here in the PH, they put so much focus on back stories rather than the talent itself. Let the show sells because of its content. #IdolPhilippines
Caught the replay of #IdolPhilippines.
Too much drama.
See what happened with the US version. They’re not doing well.
Hope it still changes in the coming episodes.#IdolPHJudgeJames
The Voice of The Philippines is still the most credible singing contest for me. From blind auditions, battles and live shows to the most sought artists like Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo, Sharon Cuneta and Lea Salonga. Can't wait to see it after #IdolPhilippines
Vice also took time to promote the show and could not help but poke fun at Regine.
Ate @reginevalcasid yung totoo???!!!! Clown ang tingin mo sakin no??!! lolz#IdolPhilippines
On Sunday’s episode, 3 candidates were given 4 yesses to move on to the next round – Juancho Gabriel, Angie Kristine, and Renwick Benito.
Idol Philippines is based on the Idol franchise created by Simon Fuller. This is the third adaptation of the show, after Philippine Idol in 2006 and Pinoy Idol in 2008. – Rappler.com
