MANILA, Philippines – What’s wrong with the US first lady appearing as a presenter at the Oscars? Everything, according to conservative political commentator Bill O’Reilly.

Speaking to Tonight Show host Jay Leno, O’Reilly said Michelle Obama’s appearance at the prestigious awards show was the “most propagandic thing I’ve ever seen.”

O’Reilly was quick to add that he liked the Obamas and that they were kind to him. But, he said, former first lady Barabra Bush would never have done such a thing.

Watch the video below for Leno’s interview with O’Reilly:

Michelle Obama is unfazed by the criticism.

“That’s just the nature of life,” said Obama in an interview with NBC’s Today show.

“I mean, we live in a time when there are bloggers and tweeters and 24-hour news and everyone has a voice in this town square and it’s a big one. And it’s good — overall, it’s good — but that means that at any point and given time, somebody’s not gonna like what you do. That’s just the nature of things.”

The first lady is not shy in front of the camera. She most recently appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for a satirical Evolution of Mom Dancing number. – Rappler.com
